Crews are entering the final stretch of work on the Fortification Street Improvement Project, with work expected to wrap up on the project in late spring.
The project, according to Jackson Traffic Engineer Robert Lee, is about 80 percent completed.
“We’re almost there,” he said. “We’re going to get everything down to the last paving and striping, (and that) will be at the end of April or beginning of May.”
The $9 million project got under way in the summer of 2012.
