Engineers are urging motorists to avoid Capitol Street if at all possible, as work continues to transform the thoroughfare into a two-way street.
Work on the Capitol Street project got under way on July 8. The roughly $6 million project includes turning the one-way street into a two-way boulevard from Gallatin to North State streets.
The project is “moving forward as scheduled,” said Jonathan Kiser, an engineer with Neel-Schaffer, the firm heading up the construction.
