JACKSON, RIDGELAND and Madison have a combined 63 hotels, including five within a mile of each other in north Ridgeland, and Madison is gunning for another.
But that’s “not abnormal” in the lodging industry, one executive said.
“Hotels truly do try to differentiate themselves in terms of the brand experience. Some are select service, full service, extended stay. Then there is the influence of franchise or loyalty programs,” said Micajah Sturdivant, president of MMI Hotel Group out of Flowood.
