Since 2007, Northsiders have gone to the polls, on average, every 21 months to elect a new person to represent Northeast Jackson on the Jackson City Council.
In August 2007, Jeff Weill was elected to replace Ben Allen, who stepped down for health reasons.
In 2009, Weill ran unopposed for a full term, but then stepped down in 2011 after being elected circuit judge.
Quentin Whitwell was elected to the seat in a special election that year.
And in 2013, Whitwell was elected to a full term.
