THE CITY OF MADISON will get more than $550,000 in road funds from Madison County this year, with several subdivisions set to have streets overlaid.
Last week, county officials finalized a memorandum of understanding (MOU) that includes $568,028 for road resurfacing in the city. That amount represents up to half of the total cost of the work, with the city paying the other half.
The overlays are part of the county’s road plan for fiscal year 2015, which includes routine maintenance and overlays. Larger projects are separate from the yearly road plan.
