Bill kills law offering state subsidies for construction
A program that subsidizes the construction of outlet malls with tax dollars will be put out to pasture beginning July 1.
Gov. Phil Bryant has signed into law House Bill 1358, a bill that includes an amendment doing away with the state’s “cultural retail attraction,” or CRA, portion of the state’s tourism tax law.
The governor signed the measure last week, after it was overwhelmingly passed by the House and Senate.
District 29 Sen. David Blount, who authored the measure, was pleased with the governor’s decision.
