City to repair roads where torn up from broken mains

NORTHSIDERS’ commutes could become a little smoother in the coming weeks, as a contractor works to repair more than 100 utility cuts across the capital city.

The Jackson City Council recently hired Mack Construction to repair 125 cuts. Work is expected to begin in the coming weeks, and should wrap up in the next two to three months, said Jackson Infrastructure Manager Darion Warren.

“We’re trying to get the ones on high-traffic thoroughfares,” he said. “(Those) on residential streets are secondary.”
