Contract awarded for new split-diamond interchange; work to start

HILL BROTHERS Construction Company Inc., will construct the new split-diamond interchange at I-55 between Old Agency Road in Ridgeland and Highway 463 in Madison.The Mississippi Department of Transportation (MDOT) awarded Hill Brothers the $85.4 million contract April 10. The contract starts May 10 with a completion date of November 2014.

Work includes adding two lanes to the interstate in each direction and adding frontage roads between the Old Agency exit and Madison Avenue, as well as building the interchange itself.
