ONE JACKSON city councilman still wants stricter architectural and color guidelines for East County Line Road, despite the fact that he has little support from the city in getting them.
Last year, Ward One Councilman Quentin Whitwell proposed an ordinance to create the East County Line Road Overlay District.
The district would have complemented the overlay that was put in place on the north side of the busy corridor by the city of Ridgeland in 2010. However, because of a technicality in city code, the city council refused to bring it out of committee in August.
