This story is about my dad – a good man. “Bud” was his nickname. The only person I ever heard call him Walter was his friend, Mr. Walter Sillers of Rosedale.
Dad was born in 1892. He was reared in the community of Arnold in Bolivar County. There were two Arnolds, so the aldermen chose a new name and it was “Pace” – named after a pioneer in the community.
