Duck hunting means waking up very, very early
I was pulling up to the Valero gas station in Ridgeland to get some non-ethanol gas for my lawnmower when I noticed a huge duck hunting rig blocking my way.
Standing next to the boat was a burly man with a big black beard in rugged hunting clothes. His back was to me.
I had two thoughts: What a classic Mississippi hard-core hunter. I bet I know the guy.
Sure enough, there was my friend and Northsider Will McNamara. By day he advises businesses, including mine, on company health care plans. By night and early morning, he is a duck hunting fanatic.
