Sipping early morning coffee on the porch in my favorite chair, I watch tumbling surf announce a windy day ahead. White foam cascades head over heels, sending spray to vanish in thin air. The American flag waves just below me in the dunes between the porch and the beach. June 7, 2012 has dawned, and I’m still thinking back to last night’s programs on the round-the-clock Military Channel, a novelty we do not have at home.
