Mrs. Ada Brandon, a Northsider, is one of the oldest residents of the state. She turned 100 years old July 16. She is a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church. This is her story.
She has no siblings and was born July 16, 1912 in New Orleans to parents who were English and Irish. Her father was a successful contractor. During her early years of attending school she attended the Beauregard School. To get there, she rode the Saint Charles streetcars. As a pre-adolescent and adolescent, she had to memorize all of her homework with her mother.
