Mr. and Mrs. George Chester Freeman III announce the engagement of their daughter, Meredith Warner Freeman, to William Jarvis Van Devender Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. William Jarvis Van Devender.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Dr. Joe Allison Moreland, and Joyce Johnson Moreland, and the late George Chester Freeman Jr. and Jacqueline Smith Freeman, all of Baton Rouge.
