THE FIRST BIT of milestone work on the new I-55 interchange in Madison and Ridgeland should be done right around the August 3 deadline, one official said.
“It’s going to be really close,” said Ken Wallace, District 5 engineer for the Mississippi Department of Transportation (MDOT).
“We’re about 60 to 70 percent complete,” Wallace told the Sun last week. “The rain is not helping. We’ve got to wait for everything to dry out.
