Parking meter future

Broken parking meters in downtown Jackson could soon be a thing of the past. The city is planning to bring on a private firm to upgrade and maintain the city’s meters and possibly enforce parking laws.

Officials are now in talks with a firm, but say it will likely be a few months before a proposal is brought to the city council.
