Northside lawmakers successful in 2014
NORTHSIDE lawmakers have had a successful session in the state Legislature, with Rita Martinson, Will Longwitz and David Blount passing laws dealing with government corruption, domestic violence and more.
District 25 Sen. Longwitz and District 48 Rep. Martinson, both Republicans from Madison, each wrote laws getting rid of loopholes in previous legislation.
Martinson’s law says people who have broken election laws cannot serve on executive committees for political parties. Last year’s version had a loophole regarding plea deals.
