WHY ARE THERE so many parkways?
Madison Parkway, Galleria Parkway/Parkway East, Highland Colony Parkway, Annandale/Reunion Parkway – the list goes on.
Maybe the word gets repetitive, but it turns out that most of these parkways in Madison actually meet the dictionary definition: “a broad thoroughfare with a dividing strip or side strips planted with grass, trees, etc.”
