TWO HINDS COUNTY judges are locked in a battle to see who gets to preside over criminal cases.
Senior Circuit Judge Tomie Green is attempting to remove Northside Judge Jeff Weill and Judge Winston Kidd from the criminal docket.
On April 17, Green issued an order saying that, beginning August 1, the court would be divided into two districts – one criminal and one civil. She and Judge Bill Gowan would be assigned all criminal cases, while Weill and Kidd would handle civil.
