MICHAEL BEATTIE said the symphony has had to navigate around some potholes in recent years.
But as the economy recovers, the longtime executive director of the Mississippi Symphony Orchestra (MSO) is excited about the nonprofit’s future.
This week, the Sun continues its series on the state of the arts, focusing on the symphony.
Beattie said the group is implementing a long-term strategic plan to ensure that MSO not only will remain sound financially, but will reach new people across the state.
