Unusually heavy rains and storm drainage issues delayed work on a project to relocate the University of Mississippi Medical Center’s (UMMC) entrance on Lakeland Drive.
For Northsiders, that will mean continued congestion on the section of Lakeland between I-55 North and North State Street.
“We ran a little behind. We had to do preliminary work with storm drainage. And rains came more than usual for this time of year,” said Dr. David Powe, the school’s chief administrative officer.
