2017 Debutantes

PRESENTATION BALL SCHEDULED NOVEMBER 24

This 84Th year’s formal presentation of debutantes as planned by the executive board of the Debutante Club of Mississippi, Inc. will take place Friday, November 24 in the ballroom of the Country Club of Jackson.



State strength

Ellen Bourdeaux, a project manager with the Mississippi Development Authority’s Asset Development Division, spoke recently to the Metro Jackson Lions Club Bourdeaux and discussed Mississippi’s strengths as a state, as well as its efforts to bring in new industry.


State economics

Bankers build

Nine banking institutions are partnering for a third year in a row with Habitat for Humanity Mississippi Capital Area to sponsor and build a home for a family in need of a decent, affordable place to live. Employees from the banks are working together to construct a Habitat house on Greenview Drive.


Sculpture dedicated

A life-size sculpture of writer Eudora Welty, commissioned by two Millsaps College alumni and created by an alumnus, was unveiled and dedicated recently at the college. Given in honor of Dr.

Jackson Club speaker
