JACKSON POLICE are investigating one armed robbery and an attempted robbery that was reported recently on the Northside.

On November 6, a woman’s quick thinking prevented her from becoming a victim. At 10:40 that night, the woman was walking to her car in the 4900 block of McWillie Circle, when she noticed two unidentified black males approaching her.

The crime occurred at the Advantages Apartments. Precinct Four Officer Robby Huff said the woman ran to her car and locked the doors. The suspects approached the vehicle and began pounding on the windows, but fled when another vehicle pulled into the parking lot, he said.

One suspect was armed with a handgun. The case is still under investigation.

A day later on November 7, two ladies were robbed while they were enjoying their evening at their home at the North Hill Square Apartments. Huff said the complainants were sitting on the couch watching television when a man kicked open the door and ran inside. The suspect, armed with a baseball bat, grabbed the flatscreen TV and fled the scene. The incident was reported at 9 p.m.

Huff said the suspect was described as an unknown black male. He told the complainants that if they moved, he would strike them with the bat.
