Mr. and Mrs. Donald Parsons announce the engagement of their daughter, Elizabeth Cavett Parsons, to Jeremy Albert Jack of Belzoni, son of Mr. and Mrs. Williard William Jack of Belzoni.

The bride-elect is the grandaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Rodgers Brashier of Indianola, and Mrs. Alex Ames Hogan and the late Donald Parsons of Jackson. The prospective bridegroom is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Albert Thomas Pratt of Merlin, Ontario, and Mrs. Murray Lloyd Jack and the late Mr. Jack of Chatham, Ontario.

Miss Parsons was graduated from Jackson Preparatory School in 2001. She is a summa cum laude graduate of the University of Mississippi with a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and psychology. While at Ole Miss, Miss Parsons was a member of Chi Omega sorority and was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa. After graduation, she worked as a legislative aide for the office of Sen. Thad Cochran in Washington, D.C. Miss Parsons received a master’s of business administration from Millsaps College and is currently associated with Planters Bank and Trust in Indianola.

Jack is a 2001 graduate of Humphreys Academy. He received his bachelor’s degree in agriculture economics and his master’s in agribusiness management from Mississippi State University. At State, Jack lettered in football and was named to the Southeastern Conference Academic Honor Roll. Upon graduation, he interned for Sen. Thad Cochran in Washington, D.C. Jack is a partner with Silent Shade Plantation and Willard Jack Trucking Company.

The couple will exchange vows January 16 at Galloway Memorial United Methodist Church.
