Ron Mumbower is director of Summit Counseling at First Baptist Church in Jackson. He recently spoke with Sun staff writer Katie Eubanks about how people can respond to the shooting near Jackson State University, the shooting at Mississippi State University, and other recent acts of violence and hate.

How can parents help their kids process all this - JSU, MSU, the recent hate-crime trial in Jackson?
“It’s about helping [kids] to realize that … our world is just made up of a lot of people who make a lot of mistakes.
