Session Outlook: Brown to focus on cutting tax loopholes, incentives for hiring veterans

Measures being proposed by District 66 Rep. Cecil Brown could generate millions of dollars in tax revenue for the state and help veterans find jobs.

The 2013 legislative session begins in January, and Brown is seeking approval for legislation that would cut out tax loopholes for certain businesses, and give employers incentives for hiring veterans that have been out of work for six months or longer.

“(Unemployment) is a real problem for veterans coming back from war. We need to give employers an incentive to hire them,” he said.
