Efforts to give Thalia Mara Hall a facelift before the 2014 International Ballet Competition (IBC) recently got a million-dollar boost.
The Mississippi Legislature included a $1 million appropriation for Thalia Mara improvements in its $200 million bond bill.
The bill now must be signed by Gov. Phil Bryant.
The money will be turned over to the city to be used to help pay for the first phase of renovations to the facility, said Jackson Director of Human and Cultural Services Michael Raff.
