
Attorney General Jim Hood and the Republican majorities in the Mississippi Legislature have been at odds from the beginning of this legislative session.
It’s no secret that the Republicans would like to clip the wings of the lone statewide Democratic officeholder.
A proposal, still pending in the Legislature, would end the attorney general’s power to hire private lawyers on a contingency fee basis.
