WORK SHOULD START soon to redirect some wastewater from the Ross Barnett Reservoir to a treatment facility in Jackson.
Currently about 100,000 gallons a day worth of wastewater from the Rankin County side of the reservoir is being treated in a lagoon that discharges the treated water back into the lake. The state and federal government say the water must be treated at a higher standard.
