Church must stand fast on abortion

A columnist last week stated that the legal system should resolve the abortion issue and that the church should “butt out.” Amazing. History tells over and again that the church, the people of faith not the buildings, are usually the catalyst of great societal shifts. It’s a grand thing that the church didn’t butt out of the slavery issue. Likewise, we should all be thankful that Rev. King’s church didn’t butt out of the civil rights struggle.
