
We don’t buy Higher Education Commissioner Hank Bounds’ assertion that Mississippi’s universities have cut all they can from their operations without sacrificing quality.
Every university in this country is heavy on administration and light on the teaching demands of faculty. Mississippi is no different.
Nevertheless, there is no arguing with the trends that have occurred in higher education funding in this state for more than a decade.
