THE MISSISSIPPI Department of Transportation (MDOT) approved the environmental documents for a widening project on Hoy Road in Madison last week, but the city still needs more funding before moving on to the next step.
Plans call for Hoy Road to be widened to four lanes from Old Canton Road to just past Rice Road, with a seven-foot-wide raised median and curb and gutter.
