
Hinds County Sheriff Tyrone Lewis recently spoke to the Rotary Club of North Jackson. Sheriff Lewis spoke on his plans for the sheriff’s office in the upcoming months. “We did a survey and found we were losing our tax base due to crime. When the tax base feels safe, you will see jobs. We have to work together,” Lewis said. “You’re going to see us bridging gaps and building relationships.” Lewis said the sheriff’s department has a $21 million budget and 500 employees. There are 118 sworn deputies
