Level funding for arts
AFTER SIX consecutive years of budget cuts, the state’s grants-making agency for the arts will not face a cut in funding for the 2012-13 fiscal year.
The Mississippi Arts Commission (MAC) will receive level funding for the next fiscal year.
The news is a positive for Director Malcolm White, who said the agency was looking at a 15 percent cut in state funding based on Gov. Phil Bryant’s budget proposal.
