Jackson officials mulling options for water, sewer improvements

JACKSON IS facing hundreds of millions of dollars in road, water and sewer repairs.

But with the death of House Bill 168, questions remain as to how the city will pay for them.

City leaders are considering taking out bonds or putting to use the special-option sales tax legislation passed in 2008. Water and sewer rate increases also are not being ruled out, but officials say no fee hikes are expected for ratepayers in the coming fiscal year.
