Purging the System
A ROBERT DRIVE fire hydrant that had been running non-stop for about two weeks as of last Friday, was likely opened to purge the system after a water main burst in Eastover, so says Jackson Director of Communications Chris Mims.
Mims said the city of Jackson gets calls from time to time regarding open fire hydrants, and said he would send a public works official to the site to make sure the hydrant, in fact, needed to be opened.
