For years, businesses on Fortification Street have been on an island.

Two businessmen with shops on the busy corridor hope to provide a lifeboat.

Tasho Katsaboulas and Walt Wofford are forming the Buy Belhaven Merchants’ Association, a new group that will help bring business owners together and promote the Fortification Street and North State Street corridors as destinations for shopping, dining, and arts and entertainment.
