Other U.S. Supreme Court ruling

The U.S. Supreme Court ruling last week that limits what states can do about immigration control vindicates Mississippi  Lt. Gov. Tate Reeves.

Reeves, to his credit, bucked Gov. Phil Bryant and the tea party folks who wanted Mississippi to follow the example of Arizona, Alabama, Georgia and a few other states and pass a tough immigration law. During this year’s legislative session, Reeves helped kill a House-passed bill by assigning it to a committee chairman he knew would not bring it up for a vote.
