THE STATE’S HIGH court is expected to rule any day now on a proposal that would prevent two Hinds County circuit judges from hearing criminal cases.
On June 27, the county’s four circuit judges met with justices of the Mississippi Supreme Court to discuss the issue.
The gathering was ordered by the court after Circuit Judge Jeff Weill filed an emergency petition with the court to block an order from Senior Judge Circuit Judge Tomie Green to split the court into civil and criminal divisions.
