Ward Seven Councilwoman Margaret Barrett-Simon said there’s no silver bullet to address the capital city’s road problems.
Jackson has 1,600 miles of roadway, of which nearly 107 miles are in need of immediate repairs.
In all, it would cost about $50 million to bring the road system up to par, but the city only dedicated $1.5 million for road overlays in the 2011-12 fiscal year budget.
