Chances are if you own property in Hinds County, your taxes are going up.
Two thousand and twelve was an update year for the Hinds County tax assessor’s office, meaning the office had to reappraise all properties listed on the tax rolls.
Reappraisals are required every four years by state law.
“Seventy percent of the county had an increase, but the majority were on the minimal side,” said Deputy Appraiser Joey Thompson.
