The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has added more than $6,100 in debt to every household and business in the capital city.
That’s the cost of the federally mandated $400 million in sewer improvements the EPA is requiring Jackson to make over the next 17.5 years, divided by the city’s 65,000 water and sewer ratepayers.
