Broadmoor Baptist Church in Madison will soon construct a new worship center to accomodate their growing congregation.

Broadmoor Administration Pastor Barry Hardy said, “We are in the midst of a capital campaign right now, trying to raise $20 million to build a new worship center with some common areas surrounding it and build some bridges and a road to access Highway 463 through our existing property and to add parking.”

Not only will the funds raised be used for the church’s benefit, they are donating money toward specific mission projects. It will go directly to mission construction projects, both near and far.

Hardy said, “Five percent of what we raise will go to capital missions projects.”

The campaign the church has launched is called, “Go the Distance: Passionately Pursuing God’s Vision for Life.”

At the end of this program, a new 2,500 seat worship center, a chapel and support space for various ministries, an access road to Highway 463 and additional parking will be completed for the church.

The estimated cost for the program is $19 to $20 million, according to the church’s Web site.

The purpose behind this expansion and construction is the growth of the congregation.

The Web site states that they, “recognize and celebrate God’s hand in the growth of people and we anticipate God’s continued blessings.”

Over the next few months, the church will begin a sermon series dealing with the program, hold events and pray continually for the endeavor.

The church has adopted a Bible verse from Hebrews 12:1-2, “Let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the Author and Perfecter of our faith.”

The campaign will conclude in approximately mid-May, according to Hardy.

Located on Highland Colony Parkway just off of Highway 463 in Madison, Broadmoor Baptist Church currently has 3,623 members.

They have been at their current location on Highland Colony Parkway since 2000. Previously, the church was located on Northside Drive in Jackson.
