THREE ARMED ROBBERIES and a carjacking on the Northside have kept Jackson police busy in recent weeks.

On November 16, a Northside woman was robbed and carjacked as she was getting ready to leave for work.

The woman was approached by two unknown black males as she sat in her car at the North Hill Square Apartments, said Precinct Four Officer Robby Huff.

Armed with a handgun, the men took her purse and fled the scene in her 1997 Chevy Blazer.

The incident occurred at approximately 9:50 p.m. The victim wasn’t hurt during the robbery and the case is still under investigation. Huff didn’t know if police had recovered her vehicle at the time of publication.

Also on November 16, a Northside motel was robbed when an unknown black male entered the lobby of the Inn Town Suites in the 5000 block of I-55 North.

The robbery happened at approximately 6:53 p.m., Huff said.

The man entered the facility, brandished a handgun and demanded money.

He fled the scene shortly after with an undisclosed amount of cash.

And on November 17, another Northside business was robbed when an unknown black male entered the Fleetway BP store in the 6000 block of Ridgewood Road.

An unknown black male went into the store and put several items on the counter.

The robbery occurred at approximately 10:58 p.m.

Huff said the clerk working there rang up the items and the suspect handed her a small amount of cash to pay for them.

As the clerk opened the drawer, the crook pulled out a handgun and took an undisclosed amount from the register. The suspect left the scene in a blue or purple Dodge vehicle.

Huff said no one was hurt during the robbery. He didn’t know if the department was reviewing surveillance footage and the police report didn’t indicate if the suspect took the items he placed on the counter.
