Ann Miller Powers and George Stouton Haymans IV were wed October 6 at 6 p.m. in Natchez, at Dunleith Plantation. The Rev. Dr. Rusty Douglass officiated the double ring ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Heston Powers of Greenwood. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Redhead of Jackson, and Mr. and Mrs. George S. Haymans III of Natchez.

Members of the Jackson Symphony Orchestra provided the nuptial music. Soloist was the Rev. Randy Weeks, youth minister at First Presbyterian in Greenwood. Kris Carmichael of Jackson was the bagpiper for the recessional.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride arrived in a horse drawn carriage. Nancy Hollingsworth Powers attended her sister as maid of honor, and Elizabeth Tower Powers, sister-in-law of the bride, was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Mary Hayes Brown of Charlotte, N.C.; Elise Ehrhardt of Brandon; Malone Gregory, Allison Harris, and Carlyle Graves of Oxford; Mary Lindsey Killebrew of Greenwood; Merrel Patridge of Olive Branch; and Millie Powers of Homewood, Ala., cousin of the bride. Anna Claire and Virginia Harris, Mary Porter Fountain, and Elizabeth Powers, niece of the bride, were flower girls.

George S. Haymans III and Hugh Redhead were the bridegroom’s best men. Groomsmen were Jon Barnwell of Atlanta; Ben Boteler, Kahlil Dahduh and Cole Massey of Jackson; Mike Harris and Stefano Capomazza of Oxford; Heston Powers of Greenwood, brother of the bride; and Brynson Rogers of Natchez. Hart Smith of Oxford was the ringbearer.

Charlotte Powers, Edward Powers, and Shelby Powers, cousins of the bride, were program attendants.

Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents hosted a reception on the grounds of the antebellum home. Guests enjoyed dancing to the music of The Chill.

The wedding weekend began on Thursday with a cocktail party given by Mr. and Mrs. Cole Massey and Mr. and Mr. Forest Johnson in the Johnsons’ home. On the eve of the wedding, Routhland, antebellum home of Mr. and Mrs. Everette Ratcliffe, was the setting for the bridesmaids luncheon hosted by Ann Caraway, Charlie Beck Graves, Leigh Russell, Hilda Powers and Gayle Steen. Mr. and Mrs. John Christian, godparents of the bridegroom, hosted the groomsmen for golf and lunch.

The bridegroom’s mother and step-father honored the couple with a rehearsal dinner at the Carriage House preceded by a tour of Stanton Hall. On the day of the wedding the bridegroom treated his attendants to lunch at Mammy’s Cupboard.

Following a trip to Turks and Caicos, the couple is at home in Oxford where the bridegroom is a partner with Smith and Haymans and the bride is the manager of Oxford Kids Company.
