Miss Smith and Hogan to say vows on May 31

Mrs. Harry Lee Hester and Keith Eugene Smith of Madison announce the engagement of their daughter, Carlie Maria Smith, to John Gatewood Hogan, son of Dr. and Mrs. Reed Blanchard Hogan II.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Judith Carlie Malzahn of Jackson, and Mr. and Mrs. Wilburn Eugene Smith of Madison.

Miss Smith is a 2006 graduate of Madison Central High School.

She attended the University of Mississippi and is pursuing a degree from the University of Mississippi Medical Center in dental hygiene.

The prospective bridegroom is the grandson of Mrs. Reed Blanchard Hogan and the late Mr. Hogan of Clarksdale, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Stanley L. Viner of Jackson.

He is a 2003 graduate of Jackson Preparatory School and of Samford University where he received a bachelor’s degree in biology.

The couple will exchange vows May 31 at Woodland Hills Baptist Church.
