Karen Colquitt Cecchettini of Raleigh, N.C., and Thomas Daniel Cecchettini of West Jefferson, N.C., announce the engagement of their daughter, Kristin Lee Cecchettini, to Sidney Perry Allen Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Sidney Perry Allen of Flora.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Habersham Colquitt of Bethesda, Md., and Mrs. Roland Edward Cecchettini and the late Mr. Cecchettini of Alameda, Calif.

The prospective bridegroom is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles Ben Wood Jr. of Jackson, Mrs. Robert Julian Allen Jr. and the late Mr. Allen of Indianola.

Miss Cecchettini is a 2000 honors graduate of Jesse O. Sanderson High School.

She attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where she was a member of Kappa Delta Sorority and served as social chair, and vice president of public relations.

In 2004, she received her bachelor’s degree in journalism and mass communication with a concentration in public relations.

Miss Cecchettini is associated with BankPlus as a public relations officer.

Allen is a 2000 graduate of St. Andrew’s Episcopal School.

He was graduated from the University of Mississippi in 2004 with a bachelor’s degree in banking and finance.

At Ole Miss, he was a member of Sigma Nu fraternity and was voted “Senior Class Favorite.”

Allen is the director of state legislative affairs for Comcast Cable.

The couple will exchange vows Saturday, July 12, at Chapel of the Cross in Chapel Hill, N.C.
