Mr. and Mrs. Ken Ramon Adcock announce the engagement of their daughter, Mary Margaret Adcock, to Matthew Christopher Thiel, son of the late Francis Peter Thiel and Norma Oakes Thiel.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Stephen Joseph Rowley and Christina Stephenson Rowley, and the late Ramon Maxie Adcock and Helen Evins Adcock, all of Jackson.

Miss Adcock is a 2003 graduate of Jackson Preparatory School. In 2007 she earned her bachelor’s degree in art, with an emphasis in graphic design and minor in journalism, from the University of Mississippi where she was a member of Kappa Delta sorority. She is an art director with Grand View Media Group in Birmingham.

The prospective bridegroom is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Elmo C. Gill of Jackson, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Cyril Mathias Thiel of Hilbert, Wis.

Thiel is a 2003 graduate of Jackson Preparatory School. He was a 2007 graduate of the University of Mississippi with a degree in accounting and received his master’s of taxation in 2008. He was a member of Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity where he served as treasurer. He is an accountant with Till, Hester, Eyer and Brown in Birmingham.

The couple will exchange vows December 19 at 7:30 p.m. at St. Richard of Chichester Catholic Church. A reception will follow at the Country Club of Jackson.
