Reservoir officials are in the process of unifying parking regulations throughout the district. The reservoir area in Rankin County south of Arbor Landing is in the jurisdiction of the county.
“Currently, within our regulations on parking, there is an exemption for the overlay district that says the overlay district ordinances would apply, not PRV parking regulations,” John Sigman, Pearl River Valley Water Supply District (PRV) general manager, said. Reservoir officials are attempting to remove that restriction in order to enforce parking regulations on reservoir property.
“We have no authority to regulate it, and we get complaints with people parking on the street, in the yard, parking boats in the front yard, everything you can think of. This will give us the ability to directly address that.”
With police jurisdiction of the Rankin County area located in the reservoir district, Sigman said parking regulations will be consistent across all portions of reservoir property.
