JA Booster Club hosts event April 9

The Jackson Academy (JA) Athletic Booster Club will host Color Me Raider, its annual color run, at Raider Park April 9. The event features a 5k race and 1-mile fun-run through a course dotted with color stations. Runners should wear clothes that can be dyed by colored powder. Following the race, crawfish and other concessions will be available for families, as well as a kid zone with inflatables and games. Funds raised through the race are used to improve athletic programs. Registration includes a T-shirt and admission to all race events. Planning and preparing to participate in the event are (from left, back) Krayleon Winston, Allison New, Lorraine Boykin, Mary Peyton Barnette, Smith Boykin (front); Ella and Mary Laurel Boykin. Packet pick-up will be available April 8 from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and April 9 from 7:30 a.m. until race start. The 5k will begin at 5:30 p.m. at the JA football field and end at Raider Park. The fun-run will follow at 6:30 p.m., beginning and ending at Raider Park. For more information call (601) 362-9676.
